H. Jin is a member of the Algorithms, Tools and Architectures (ATA) group.

Research Interests   H. Jin is interested in parallel programming methodology and performance studies of high-performance computing applications. This includes (but not limited to):
  • Performance monitoring and analysis
  • Computer-aided parallelization tools
  • Automated parallel code optimization and generation
  • Parallel programming paradigms and methodology
  • Benchmarking of high performance computers

Current Projects   The current project is studying how parallel codes of scientific applications can be automatically generated with software tools and user assistance. The toolkit that is currently being investigated is CAPTools from the University of Greenwich, UK.

  • NAS Parallel Benchmarks (NPB) and
    Programming Baseline for NPB (PBN)
  • Computer-Aided Parallelizer and Optimizer (CAPO)
  • Shared-Memory Parallelization Library (SMPlib-v2.5)
  • Legacy Code Modernization (LCM) project
  • Automated Instrumentation and Monitoring System (AIMS)
  • Internal work
