PLOT3D is a computer graphics program designed to visualize the grid and solutions of structured CFD datasets.
PLOT3D 4.1 is a port of PLOT3D version 3.6 to use the OpenGL/GLUT graphics library. In addition, several new features have been added to the code. These include: automatic compuation of the min/max of the grid coordinates; orphan point plotting function (function 3); ability to read double precision unformatted data; negative grid index processing; random specification of colors for different walls; simulataneous specification of walls and subsets for all zones; and storing of viewpoints between subsequent plots.
Compiling the PLOT3D 4.1 code requires that you have the OpenGL Utility Toolkit (GLUT) package installed on your system. GLUT is not in the public domain and is under a copyright. But, the source code for GLUT is freely available on the web without any licensing fees. Many LINUX systems now include the GLUT libraries with the system. Otherwise, GLUT can be donwloaded from the web. Go to this OpenGL Link for information on downloading GLUT.
