Release of Chimera Grid Tools Version 1.3

• OVERGRID:
  • New capability for creating/reading/writing/viewing X-ray objects from the GEN_X code.
  • Select/unselect using drag box (Shift-Middle/Right mouse).
  • Option to display selected entities with random colors (useful for displaying different grids over a one-color shaded surface).
  • Option to display all orphan points in all unblanked grids up to a user specified max number (under DIAGNOS module).
  • Incorporated new true 3-D grid-induced truncation error analysis routine from G. Klopfer into DIAGNOS module.
• Added GEN_X domain connectivity pre-processing tool by Robert Meakin as one of the batch mode modules. X-ray maps of hole cutters are produced which can then be used for hole cutting by OVERFLOW-D.
• Developed Xray processing tool XRAYED for splitting and combining Xray files containing multiple Xrays.
• Library routines were developed for HYPGEN. SURGRD was also split into smaller library files.
• Allowed the possibility of doing NSHIFT for active surface and line subsets in PROGRD. Also fixed iblanks output bug for active grids.
• BuildPlot: added zone name and file name as comments to plot3d commmand file
• Fixed bug in p3drw.F: READX[JKL]: grids with iblank array, was using real dummy array to read through unwanted part of iblank array. Change to dummy scalar integer variable.

Users on NAS machines

Users on NAS machines have the option to link to pre-compiled executables on server machines. Choose the appropriate installation, and make both of the following additions to your path and to your environment. To access these directories on vn, you must be added to our Access Control List (ACL). Contact Stuart Rogers, rogers@nas.nasa.gov, to be added. (If you are a user outside NASA, you will have to sign a non-disclosure statement first). These examples are for /bin/csh users:
• SGI workstations on .nas.nasa.gov network, single precision:

set path = ( /r/octane13/u/wk/chimera/cgt1.3/bin $path )
setenv SCRIPTLIB /r/octane13/u/wk/chimera/cgt1.3/scriptlib
 
• SGI workstations on .nas.nasa.gov network, double precision:

set path = ( /r/octane13/u/wk/chimera/cgt1.3_dp/bin $path )
setenv SCRIPTLIB /r/octane13/u/wk/chimera/cgt1.3_dp/scriptlib
 
• vn:

set path = ( /usr/unsupported/bin/chimera/cgt1.3/bin $path )
setenv SCRIPTLIB /usr/unsupported/bin/chimera/cgt1.3/scriptlib


OVERGRID users on NAS workstations also have to copy the following preferences file and put it in the user's home directory:
/r/octane13/u/wk/chimera/cgt1.3/bin/.overgridrc
