Release of Chimera Grid Tools Version 1.4

• OVERGRID:
  • OVERFLOW and OVERFLOW-D solvers namelist input preparation modules.
  • Fast rendering of triangles wireframes using edge structure.
  • Grid diagnostic functions for triangles: vertex degree, min and max angle, curvature.
  • Auto-scaling of translation transform sensitivity with zoom.
  • Blanked points are now not drawn in shaded surfaces.
  • Auto update of DS in GEN_X module.
  • Fixed bug in truncation error analysis function under DIAGNOS module.
  • Compatibility with tcl/tk 8.3.1 and 8.3.2.
  • Windows size/position compatibility with 1280x1024 and 1024x768 screens.
• Fixed a number of bugs related to TFI in SURGRD.
• Fixed IOP=0 bug in TRIGED.
• Re-implemented capability to read single or double precision surface grid file irrespective of how code was compiled in HYPGEN.
• Fixed bug on file output query duplication for multiple grid option 9 in GRIDED.
• Added zero determinant check for vertical face cases in GEN_X.
• Added new capability in XRAYED to write selected xrays to file.
• Fixed seam edge concatenation bugs in SEAMCRT. Added filter option for auto removal of small seam curves in SEAMCR and SEAMCRT.
• Fixed bug in READXS/READQS in lib/p3drw.F which affected READQS and minterp.
• Improved surface-normal point search in VPRO.
• Added RunSetzeta to scriptlib/Exec.tcl
• Modified scriptlib/ovfi.tcl: GetSubsForBC: ibtyp=22 (axisymmetric BC) duplicate opposite face in list of boundary conditions.
• Fixed bug in examples/script/BuildCanard.tcl: bad BC for canard k=kmax face.
• In BuildVol, proc runBOXGR: Added checks for variables zonename ({xmin,xmax,ymin,ymax,zmin,zmax}) so user can override size of box. Added documentation to doc/script.html for all of the box mesh inputs.
• Mods to BuildPeg5i to correspond with PEGASUS 5.1c; merged with RunPeg5 which is now obsolete and has been removed.
• Fixed bug to scriptlib/ovfi.tcl, proc ReadOvfi.

Users on NAS machines

Users on NAS machines have the option to link to pre-compiled executables on server machines. Choose the appropriate installation, and make both of the following additions to your path and to your environment. To access these directories on vn, you must be added to our Access Control List (ACL). Contact Stuart Rogers, rogers@nas.nasa.gov, to be added. (If you are a user outside NASA, you will have to sign a non-disclosure statement first). These examples are for /bin/csh users:
• SGI workstations on .nas.nasa.gov network, single precision:

set path = ( /r/octane13/u/wk/chimera/cgt1.4/bin $path )
setenv SCRIPTLIB /r/octane13/u/wk/chimera/cgt1.4/scriptlib
 
• SGI workstations on .nas.nasa.gov network, double precision:

set path = ( /r/octane13/u/wk/chimera/cgt1.4_dp/bin $path )
setenv SCRIPTLIB /r/octane13/u/wk/chimera/cgt1.4_dp/scriptlib
 
• vn:

set path = ( /usr/unsupported/bin/chimera/cgt1.4/bin $path )

OVERGRID users on NAS workstations also have to copy the following preferences file and put it in the user's home directory:
/r/octane13/u/wk/chimera/cgt1.4/bin/.overgridrc

If you have never obtained a copy of the Chimera Grid Tools software package before, you will first have to apply, and sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
